I remember a time in my life when I (like so many of us) felt like I had to downplay or minimize who I was for various reasons. It just seemed easier. It “seemed” to cause less problems in my life- or so I thought. That’s another story for another time. However today I’m grateful for how God defines me and for showing me that every part of me is significant. My “wholeness and my fully unleashed awesomeness” (I wish you could hear me laughing) are required and needed if I am going really live life- a life that is abundant, overflowing and impactful. I don’t have to play small or play big. I just have to be.
I’m also grateful for each experience God has allowed me to encounter- all of the good, the tough times… experiences that caused my growth & helped to expose parts of me that were hidden- encounters that made it possible for me to get to know God up close and personal- not only as Lord, but also as Father, Healer, my Banner, Shepherd, Provider, the Restorer of my soul, my Sword & Shield, Heart Mender, my Peace, my Hiding Place, The Lifter of my head, the Rock that is so much higher than I, The One who is always present…
I’m thankful for the amazing assignment He has given me in the earth and the gifts He has provided me to complete that assignment- the gift of counsel and the ability to inspire hope, to challenge, to engage, to encourage, and to empower people through the written and spoken word.
It took me a while before I could again say, “I love the journey I’m on”, but I do, as it- the good, the bad, the setbacks, the victories, the pain, the joy, the ugly, and the beautiful has helped me to emerge into the Woman I am. I’m grateful.
I don’t usually include songs in my posts, but I feel led to do so today. I hope the song “I Am” says something to your heart. Anyone who knows me will know that this is my type of groove. It is smooth with a powerful message. Thanks to Lina Loi for recording it! It is definitely a personal favorite of mine. It reminds me that adversity can serve me. It reminds me to love the person I am, the journey I’m on, the mission I have and the lives I encounter!
Stay encouraged! Oh, and if no one else has told you, you matter! You’re going to make it! Hold your head up! Keep standing tall.
