“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!”
“Yeah, On the Third Day, Jesus, by the power of God, was resurrected- defying and defeating death, sin, and the grave. He got up and He LEFT that place! And because He got up, I can to. I am risen! Risen from the past. Risen from whatever held me captive.
No longer am I wrapped up and sealed behind the stone- the stone of fear, the stone of religion, the stone of oppression, the stone of performance, the stone of complacency, the stone of grief, the stone of exhaustion, the stone of sickness, the stone of poverty, the stone of shame, the stone of other people’s expectations, the stone of guilt, the stone of… of whatever! So don’t look for me to be in that place, although it might be where you last saw me. Don’t show up now to attend to my dead issues. Don’t look for me in the tomb! I am not there! The tomb couldn’t hold me!
Because of the POWER and GRACE of God and the FINISHED works of Christ on the cross, my stone has been rolled away. I am no longer bound but I am free to be fully ALIVE- free to be fully me- unique, brave, creative, astonishing- free to celebrate and live out my God given purpose.
I’m so humbled. My words can never completely convey my feelings. Jesus did what He did- suffered beyond what is humanly possible, for the joy that was set before Him. I was the joy that was set before Him. My name is the book of life was that joy. God seeing me thru the eyes and blood of a sinless Christ, instead of my sinful nature was that joy. Me, no longer being a servant or even a friend, but being God’s child- Ahh… that was the joy that was set before Him.
What a privilege to be a child of the King! What an honor to have my name written in the book of life. What an honor to know Him up close and personal, without pretense or performance. Thank God for His resurrection power!!”
