I’m so honored to be blessed with my Parents. They may never know the full impact they have on my life & on so many lives. Today they celebrate 59 (Yep, fifty-nine) years of marriage. I’m sure that it hasn’t always been easy. I’m sure there have been many challenges along the way. However, they have stood together through the ups & downs, the good & the bad, in sickness & in health, 4 kids, 6 grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren. They knew parenting didn’t stop when kids turned 18 (and didn’t really stop with your own kids). They nurtured us, disciplined us, challenged us, stood as amazing examples for us and together established a beautiful family and home. They never took back the house keys.
Their strong presence and love has made all the difference in our family. It has been the glue that has held us and many others together. It continues to be the fuel that ignites us, that compels us to put God first, that pushes us to be our best, that encourages us to pursue our dreams even if no one else believes in them, that demands that we keep loving each other even when we’ve been hurt by one another, and that wipes our tears & tells us to get up & keep going even when the world is trying to beat up on us. When you look up the words love, commitment, sacrifice, Champion, role model, I’m sure their picture is posted. What an amazing gift they are!
Thank you Mom & Dad for your commitment to each other, to God, & to us! Happy Anniversary! I love you!
