Merry Christmas everyone! Hopefully you are somewhere celebrating Christ and enjoying your family and friends. I know I am. It’s a great day!! I hope this little poem I wrote will encourage and challenge you to celebrate Christ all year round. Wendy
Long long ago, the Angel did proclaim
The birth of the Christ- Jesus is His name.
The shepherds, the wise men, they came from near and far-
Searching for the Savior- being led by a star.
They found Him in a manger. They knew He was the One.
They gave gifts. They worshipped Him- God’s only Son.
He would be the one to offer deliverance from sin and death.
During this season as we celebrate His birth
As we proclaim the words, “Good will towards men and peace on earth,”
As we press our way through the crowds to get that special gift
To exchange on Christmas day- to give someone’s soul a lift . . .
I challenge you to step out, look up and gaze across the sky at night
Fix your eyes upon a star that shines so bright
And ask yourself
Do I still seek the Christ- not the baby but the king?
Do I still honor Him with whatever gifts I have to bring?
Do I long to be in His presence?
Do I worship Him- give Him reverence?
Do I stand in awe of who He is and what He’s done?
Do I recognize the power of God’s love shown to me when He gave me His begotten Son?
Am I shouting out the Good News to everyone that comes my way
So they to may understand that Christmas is not just one day?
So experience the true meaning of Christmas. Let it forever saturate your heart and soul
For since the Christ has come, our lives can be made whole!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
